Located just 20 Kilometres north of Koh Samui in the Gulf of Thailand, Koh Phangan comprises of white sandy beaches, pristine blue sea and natural lush tropical jungle. The island is well-known amongst backpackers and tourists for its Full Moon Parties, on the full moon night. However, the island has more to offer other than being a party hub with its scenic waterfall and other islands accessible from the main island by boats. Phangan is easily accessed by daily ferry boats from Surat Thani, or from Meanam and Bophut piers in Koh Samui. These boats call at Thong Sala and Haad Rin from where many resorts are accessed by pickup truck over rough tracks.
